HD line-up at Virgin Media is better than everWednesday, July 28th 2010 A huge range of high-definition films, kids' favourites and cult TV shows is available from Virgin Media. Virgin Media's high-definition (HD) cable TV services have been pretty fantastic ever since they first launched but, never content to rest on its laurels, the bundle provider has just improved its offerings with a whole host of new films and shows.
We reckon one of its biggest coups since Virgin Media HD launched is Shutter Island, the twisted thriller from Martin Scorsese which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo.
From August 13th 2010, Virgin Media will become the first TV content provider in the UK to broadcast the film in HD. Given how gripping this movie was on the silver screen, we can't wait to feast our eyes on the glorious HD version - and we're sure it's no coincidence that the first showing comes on Friday 13th.
Obviously, dark, psychological flicks aren't for everyone, but Virgin Media has plenty more HD goodness to offer over the coming weeks. Parents who are looking for ways to keep the kids amused during the summer holidays will be delighted to learn that the likes of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang, Fantastic Mr Fox and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel are all available.
Meanwhile, a number of cult TV series - including The Sopranos, Torchwood, The OC and Entourage - can also be viewed in glorious HD.
With such a packed line-up, now is a great time to take advantage of one of Virgin Media's great new HDTV deals. We think the best package is TV XL, which includes no extra monthly fee for HD services and just a one-off charge of £49 for activation. |
If you sign up with Virgin Media and take out a landline, you can get up to 10Mb/s broadband for as little as £5 per month. With BT Vision set to launch its ABC TV On Demand service next month, now is the perfect time to sign up for one of its digital TV deals. You can get inclusive calls to UK landlines at any time of day or night with BT. | With BT recently announcing the acquisition of its 15 millionth broadband customer, we thought it was the ideal moment to have a look at the company's best offers. Both Virgin Media and BT offer some great value broadband bundles - it's just up to you to decide which one fits your needs the best. We've taken a look at a couple of the lowest priced broadband offers available from the leading providers. |
