Broadband, TV & Phone Bundles Explained

The triple play bundle, which includes everything the modern household needs from TV, internet and home phone service, is a relatively new product but has many benefits. Firstly all of your monthly outgoings in this area will be combined into a single easy to manage monthly payment, and having all of these services offered by one company simplifies the process of ordering and operating everything, meaning less hassle for you. Because there are many different technologies that can deliver digital TV, broadband and phone bundles to your home there are many different options when it comes to choosing the right one, so patience and shopping around is essential.

Cable Digital TV, Broadband and Phone Bundles

Virgin Media offer customers in cabled areas 3 main TV, internet and phone bundles to suit a range of needs. The cheapest is just £14 a month on top of the £11 a month line rental you have to pay for the Virgin line, and includes 10Mbps fibre optic broadband, over 45 Freeview digital channels, including access to movies on demand and iPlayer.

You'll also get their M sized phone package which offers free weekend calls to UK land line numbers. If you want more telly then for £19 a month you can have over 100 digital TV channels as well as the great broadband and phone packages that are part of the cheaper bundle. If you've got money to spare and simply must have everything, then for £40 a month you'll get up to 20Mbps broadband, over 165 digital TV channels and unlimited anytime phone calls to UK land lines.

Satellite Digital TV, Broadband and Phone Bundles

Sky give customers who sign up for their talk packages a massive £5 a month reduction in the cost of their broadband services, which means that a bundle including TV, broadband and phone is the cheapest way to do things. For £16.50 a month you get all the Freeview channels plus 20 entertainment channels including Sky 1, along with 2Mbps broadband and a phone package with free evening and weekend calls to UK land line. You can add the Sky+ digital recorder for £99 to complete the deal.

Alternative Digital TV, Broadband and Phone Bundles

BT have recently embarked on providing digital TV, broadband and phone bundles to new and existing customers with their BT vision service, and their mid range package is the most interesting. For £20.50 a month for the first three months you get unlimited UK evening and weekend calls, Option 1 Broadband with the free BT home hub and the Gold value TV package which includes great kids', movies, entertainment and sports channels. You'll also get the V Box set top viewer which is High Definition ready.

The simple truth of it is that we all need digital TV, phone and broadband in our homes these days, and it's simpler and cheaper to go for a bundle than to seek out each one independently. It's also much more convenient to pay for a single monthly bill. Each bundle will suit some more than others, but companies have to be flexible in what is a very competitive market. Whether you're switching from your existing provider or getting all of these services for the first time, a digital TV, broadband and home phone package may be for you.
