On many of the pages of Cable.co.uk you’ll find our free postcode checker, which you can use to instantly check the availability of TV, phone and broadband providers, packages and deals in your area.
Your information is 100% safe when you use our postcode checker, and it enables us to tell you exactly what your options are, to show you the prices applicable in your Ofcom Market Classification and to give you an estimated download speed based on your location, for both standard and fibre broadband.
Once you’ve checked availability you're ready to compare the packages and bundles that are available where you live. You can speed up the process by using our exclusive package filter to narrow the selection by adding any criteria that really matter to you, such an inclusive digital TV recorder, unlimited downloads or anytime calls.
Helpful online tools
Alongside our postcode checker and comparison filter you can also find some other useful online tools at Cable.co.uk.
You can use our free broadband speed test as often as you like to check the upload and download speed of your existing broadband connection. We recommend that you check your broadband speed at different times of the day and week to build up the most accurate picture of your internet connection. You also have the option to automatically Tweet the results to give yourself a permanent record of your readings.
We’re often contacted by consumers wanting to find out when specific broadband products will arrive in their area, such as fibre broadband or standard broadband from a preferred supplier. This led us to develop our availability alert tool which lets you select all the services you’re interested in, and which we use to contact you once they’ve gone live in your neighbourhood.
Our availability alerts are free to use, just like everything else on Cable.co.uk, and any information you provide us with remains completely private and secure.
Independent, impartial help and guidance
We also have a library of exclusive guides to help you find out everything you need to know about broadband, TV and phone. We’ve got guides that pit one provider against another, that tell you how to add broadband to your TV package, how to save money on international calls and how to improve your mobile broadband signal. New guides are added all the time, and they’re always compiled from the most up-to-date information and developments.

You’ll also find an active community of consumers, just like you, swapping reviews of their providers and packages. Our Q&A section lets you pose any burning questions you may have, and all are answered by one of our broadband, TV and phone experts - while other Cable.co.uk users can weigh in with their own opinions and experiences.
