3 Mobile named as 3G network partner for Google Chromebooks

Network operator 3 Mobile has been chosen by Google as the UK 3G network partner for its line of Chromebooks.
The search engine giant unveiled its line of web-focused netbooks from Acer and Samsung at a special event at the Moscone Convention Centre in San Francisco earlier this week.
With the portable computers set to be available online in the UK, US and five other countries from June 15th 2011, 3 Mobile has announced it is linking up with Google to offer the benefits of its 3G network to users.
A press statement from the carrier said it "is delighted that we've been selected as the 3G connectivity partner for the Chromebook launch in the UK".
Posting on the carrier's official blog, head of mobile broadband David Kerrigan said 3 Mobile is unable to confirm any further details at present, but pledged to let people know more about the link-up with Google closer to the launch date.
According to Google, Chromebooks will remove the need to wait minutes for computers to load up, instead allowing people to check their emails "in seconds".
