Brits 'taking control of TV habits'Britons are increasingly using digital video recording services including Sky+ to keep up-to-date with their favourite shows, it has been revealed. New research has suggested that Brits are increasingly warming to the idea of being able to watch TV when it suits them.
The study by Ofcom found that almost nine million people now have access to digital video recorders, either simply for Freeview or through packages offered by leading subscription TV providers.
In a breakdown, it was revealed that around five million people subscribe to Sky+, while both Virgin Media's V+ and BT's Vision packages have attracted 600,000 subscribers each.
Nearly two million people have access to high definition services, while around 90 per cent of Britain has now been switched over to solely digital TV.
