New research has revealed that around 20 million people have never used interactive digital TV services.
Almost 20 million have never accessed interactive digital TV services, according to a new study. The research by Moneysupermarket.com found that 45 per cent of all adults have never used such platforms, with over nine million claiming they are scared of being charged for pressing the red button.
However, 28 per cent of people say the services which can vary from news services to on-demand content depending on the provider are one of the best TV innovations.
James Parker, manager of mobiles and broadband at the comparison website, said red button has "revolutionised the way TV works in the UK".
He added: "I would urge customers who haven't embraced the button to check with their provider what's available, or if you already have a digital TV subscription to check the types of services on offer."
Earlier this week, Digital Spy reported that Virgin Media is offering the True Movies channel for free to its TV subscribers until the middle of January next year.
