Broadband TV streaming service KnowHow Movies set for launch

Currys and PC World are set to launch KnowHow Movies, a service that allows customers to stream movies and TV shows on broadband-connected televisions and other devices.
The transactional on-demand TV platform will be available subscription-free from Thursday (March 1st 2012), offering content from major Hollywood film studios such as Disney, Warner Bros and Momentum Pictures.
Content will be added to the KnowHow library on the day of release, meaning users can look forward to viewing new shows as soon as they become available.
The retailers claimed their position in the UK electricals market will support the launch of KnowHow Movies, as they sell more than 4.5 million connected devices - such as TVs, tablets, laptops and games consoles - every year.
Niall O'Keeffe, development director of the streaming service, said: "TVs and the home entertainment sector is a cornerstone of our business and it's hugely exciting to be taking this next step and offering our customers great content to be enjoyed on their connected devices."
KnowHow Movies will be the latest streaming service to hit the market in the UK, coming just a matter of weeks after the launch of Netflix.
