Free OnLive usage available to BT subscribers
The telecoms giant is offering customers three months of free access to the instant-play game service.

BT has announced its broadband customers will be able to enjoy three months of free OnLive usage to celebrate the launch of the cloud gaming platform.

As part of the telecoms giant's exclusive deal with OnLive, its broadband subscribers will be given free and unlimited access to a PlayPack featuring more than 100 games from over 50 top publishers.

The library of games is regularly updated, with the current range including Batman: Arkham Asylum, Borderlands, Homefront and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords.

OnLive allows users to choose titles that can be instantly delivered to HD TVs, PCs, Macs and tablets via a home broadband connection.

Warren Buckley, managing director of customer service at BT Retail, said the company's up to 40Mbps fibre optic broadband product, Infinity, is "ideal" for OnLive gaming.

"We just want to give our customers the chance to try it and with more than 100 premium games available, choosing what to play will be the hardest part," he added.

The service has been available in the US since June 2010, offering content from the likes of EA, THQ and Ubisoft 2K Games.
