BT chooses BeBanjo to support VoD management

BT has chosen Spanish technology firm BeBanjo to assist with the management of its video-on-demand (VoD) proposition across several platforms.
The company's solutions will allow BT Vision to maintain more control over the delivery of its VoD services in relation to everything from metadata and operational workflow to scheduling and rights.
Channel 5 and Sky are among the other broadcasters to utilise BeBanjo's services.
Bastian Manintveld, founder of BeBanjo, described working with BT as "a privilege".
"Their scale and expertise show that BeBanjo now has reached the level of maturity where it can be at the very heart of a large operators' on-demand world," he commented.
BT Vision's head of sport Steve Norris noted the amount of content managed by the telecoms giant has grown by more than 300 per cent over the past three years, causing its workflow to become increasingly complex.
He expressed confidence that BeBanjo's products will help BT manage its content in a "better informed and more elegant way".
In the three months to June 30th 2012, BT signed up another 21,000 Vision subscribers, taking the total customer base to 728,000.
