BT extends Cornish fibre broadband coverage to St Columb Major

BT claims to have offered a helping hand to people planning a wedding in Cornwall by rolling out super-fast broadband to the town of St Columb Major.
Among the people to sign up for the fibre optic broadband service is Sarah Vaux, a local wedding planner, who is expecting to be among the first to be connected.
With clients located as far afield as Australia and the US travelling to Cornwall for their nuptials, Ms Vaux believes next-generation broadband will play a major role in improving the service she offers.
She explained: "With super-fast broadband, I'll be able to use Skype to speak to clients face to face and be sure of a great quality connection."
BT has brought the technology to St Columb Major as part of the Superfast Cornwall project, a £132 million partnership with the EU and Cornwall Council.
More than 105,000 homes and businesses can currently access the service, with upgrades already carried out on 58 of the county's 99 exchanges.
Pat Harvey, chairman of Cornwall Council and local member for St Columb, said faster broadband is already having "a major impact on both the working and personal lives of the people of Cornwall".
