BT to answer broadband quality issuesFriday, December 4th 2009 Leading figures from BT are set to answer questions about broadband quality at an upcoming meeting. Business leaders from broadband provider BT are set to meet with South Derbyshire District Council to discuss concerns over web services in the area. As part of a committee hearing on Wednesday (December 9th), figures from the company will attempt to answer questions about the quality of internet in the region and how it could be improved. The Burton Mail reports that the meeting has come after councillors and the public spoke out against the quality of services available to them. District councillor Amy Plenderleith has particularly been stating the case for the village of Hilton recently, as many residents do not have access to the government's minimum speed of 2Mbps. She told the newspaper: "More than three-quarters of people in Hilton cannot get anywhere near it." Last month, BT confirmed the launch of a new trial of super-fast broadband in the Halfway area of Glasgow. Business customers in the area are able to take part in the pilot of the services. |
