BT to discuss broadband improvements in DerbyshireMonday, January 25th 2010 Broadband provider BT is to discuss the possibility of improving broadband services in Derbyshire, it has been revealed. BT is set for talks with councillors in South Derbyshire over the quality of broadband coverage in the area, according to reports.
The Burton Mail has revealed that the broadband provider is set to answer questions on internet provision in the areas in the near future, after concerns arose over whether the company was planning to improve coverage in the region.
Amy Plenderleith, who represents the Hilton ward, told the newspaper that hopes are high that services will be improve after discussions held recently with the company, as well as the Earl of Eroll and Lord Corbett of Castle Vale.
"I feel broadly more positive after this meeting," she told the newspaper.
"We had a good conversation and discussed with the Lords the broader picture of how broadband is being rolled out and how rural areas are missing out."
BT recently launched its new Infinity service, which offers fibre optic broadband access from £19.99 a month.
