BT Vision adds National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild

BT has bolstered the linear offering of its BT Vision internet protocol TV service with the addition of the National Geographic Channel (NGC) and Nat Geo Wild.
The channels, which feature shows such as Air Crash Investigation, Bloody Tales from the Tower and Seconds from Disaster, are set to launch on the BT Vision electronic programme guide later this year.
NGC programming is already available via BT Vision's on-demand proposition, but this move will allow customers to watch live TV and catch up on programmes they missed for seven days after the shows were first broadcast.
This new channel announcement comes shortly after the company secured a deal with UKTV to add its portfolio of on-demand and linear services to BT Vision, starting later this year with the launch of Alibi, Gold and Watch.
Further UKTV stations, including Eden, Good Food and Home, are set to be added to the platform in the future.
Marc Watson, chief executive of BT Vision, said: "We are delighted to have signed a linear deal with an incredible brand like National Geographic Channel for these two channels."
