BT Vision claims British men are obsessed with football

Wednesday, August 11th 2010 by Editorial
Men in Britain are prepared to skip a job interview to watch football, it has been claimed.
New research conducted by BT Vision has revealed the extent of the average British man's obsession with football.

According to the digital TV provider, men spend 25 per cent more time watching, thinking and talking about football than looking after their children.

Furthermore, a quarter of unemployed blokes across the UK who support a football team were prepared to ignore the effects of the recession by skipping a job interview to watch their side in action.

Commercial director for BT Vision Andy Baker commented: "We've always known that football is at the heart of our sporting nation and this research shows that Britain certainly breeds some very passionate fans."

The company now offers Sky Sports 1 and 2 for a combined price of £11.99 per month, or one of the channels for £6.99 per month - cheaper than Sky or Virgin Media.

Chief executive Ian Livingston recently told the Wall Street Journal that these are "great prices", adding that the broadcaster's sports coverage was previously its biggest weakness.

I do not understand how you are delivering Sky sports 1 and 2.
to the public. Is it delivered down telephone lines or by some other means?? Also if delivered down tele lines is there a problem of distances along cables causing poor picture quality. Please briely describe the technology. M Griffin
