BT's digital TV move 'shows renewed competitiveness'
The pricing structure launched by BT to support its new sports TV deals has been welcomed by financial analysts.
BT has been praised by a financial analyst for its efforts to compete with both Sky and Virgin Media in the digital TV stakes.

Jonathan Groocock, analyst at Investec, told the Daily Telegraph that the broadband, home phone and digital TV bundle provider's new packages including Sky Sports 1 and 2 demonstrate its plan to rival other firms.

He also suggested that the move could improve the company's standing among those in financial circles.

"Our initial impression is that this is aggressive pricing, set to win market share and get competitors' broadband subs to come back to BT," he explained to the newspaper.

"We are encouraged by BT's renewed competitiveness and believe this bodes well for shareholders."

BT customers who subscribe to both broadband and home phone deals can access Sky Sports 1 and 2, as well as ESPN and other content, in a range of deals priced from £6.99 a month.
