Cartoon Network HD to launch on Sky in September

A high-definition (HD) variant of Cartoon Network is set to launch on Sky next month, the station's owner Turner Broadcasting has announced.
The channel, which will be a simulcast of the existing Cartoon Network station, is scheduled to go live on the satellite broadcaster's pay TV platform on September 14th.
Among the shows that are set to receive the HD treatment are Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Regular Show, Adventure Time and Star Wars: the Clone Wars.
Other highlights include Johnny Test, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders.
The Amazing World of Gumball, a new sitcom that utilises 2D and 3D animation and live-action backgrounds, will also be available in HD, shortly after it premieres on September 5th.
Vice president and general manager of the UK and Ireland at Turner Broadcasting Anthony Lukom described the Amazing World of Gumball as a "truly unique and groundbreaking series" that demands to be seen in its "breathtaking HD format".
"We're thrilled that that this series and many more will be available in HD from this coming September," he added.
