Channel 4 to launch More4+2 ahead of 4seven
Channel 4 is set to precede the launch of its new repeats digital TV service 4seven by rolling out a new time-shifted version of More4.
According to Broadcast Now, More4+2 will hit the air on the Sky platform on April 16th 2012 and will air for a limited period every day, with this time likely to come in the evening.
Neither Channel 4 nor Sky have confirmed an electronic programme guide slot for the station.
Just a matter of weeks later, Channel 4 is expected to launch 4seven across all major TV platforms, offering viewers the opportunity to catch up on the most popular Channel 4 content from the past seven days.
Although an official launch date for 4seven is currently unknown, it is widely believed that the service will begin broadcasting in June.
Confirming plans for the station at the FT Digital Media Conference earlier this month, Channel 4 chief executive David Abraham said the scheduling of 4seven will be in "close harmony" with its other channels.
He added it will be "a powerful way of maximising the audience for the many hours of new Channel 4 programming we launch every week".
