Display advertising for BT Vision as subscriber numbers rise?Monday, February 8th 2010 As demand for BT's digital TV services grow, so does the desire for increased advertising. The increased demand for BT's digital TV service, BT Vision, is causing advertisers to show interest in marketing their products via online video.
According to New Media Age, Channel 4 has become the first public broadcaster to enter into talks with BT about the future of advertising on the platform.
Channel 4 is hoping to run pre-roll adverts on its video on-demand content.
Lee Bellion, TV video on demand senior account executive for Channel 4, told the news provider: "Video on-demand viewers have an early-adopter attitude and a commercially-aware mindset.
"We're in discussions with BT Vision as ads are something we want to do and advertisers are calling for [them] too."
Earlier this month, Virgin Media announced the addition of Eurosport HD to its video on-demand service, which is available free of charge to the company's existing XL TV package customers.
The firm said that combined with its existing digital TV packages, Virgin Media customers could enjoy flexibility "at the touch of a button". |
