Updated Sky Sports iPad app offers new features
Sky has announced the launch of an enhanced Sky Sports iPad app that features in-depth statistics and online content to accompany its football coverage.

Sky has introduced an updated version of its Sky Sports iPad app, designed to deliver enhanced football coverage for subscribers to the digital TV service.

The new app offers an improved second-screen experience by including a new Football Match Centre feature, which provides content and information on all aspects of the game and players.

Background information on individual teams, fantasy football rankings and live match statistics are all included, as well as a curated Twitter feed that compiles online comments by fans on the unfolding action.

This follows the earlier successful launch of the Race Control feature for the app, which provides additional text and video information for Formula One fans.

Sky's director of digital media Dave Gibbs said: "With over half a million downloads since launch, we hope that the addition of a football second-screen experience to the iPad app will continue to excite fans."

Last month, the company also introduced a new iPad and iPhone application for its recently launched Now TV online television service.

Hi Rita, I'm afraid Sky Sports is not available on iPad through BT or indeed Virgin Media. Only Sky offer this service to their subscribers.
