The broadcaster will continue to show football matches from the Italian top flight during the 2011-12 campaign.

ESPN has announced the renewal of its agreements to air exclusive live coverage of Serie A and several other top European football competitions.

The pay TV broadcaster has once again secured the rights to the top tier of Italian football, as well as the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup, the Russian Premier Liga and the Dutch Eredivisie for the 2011-12 season.

At least two games will be shown each weekend from Serie A, while ESPN Kicks - Serie A will continue to screen all the goals from Saturdays and Sundays.

Jeroen Oerlemans, vice president of TV channels at ESPN Europe, Middle East and Africa, said the organisation is creating an "excellent portfolio" of live football and other sport.

"The renewal of these agreements is an excellent result for all football fans in the UK, giving them access to live and exclusive coverage of some of Europe's leading football leagues and competitions," he added.

ESPN, which is available on Sky, Virgin Media, BT Vision, TalkTalk TV and Top Up TV, has also unveiled Robbie Savage as its new football analyst.

The former Wales international will work on the broadcaster's coverage of the Barclays Premier League and the FA Cup.
