Milan derby to headline launch of new ESPN Sunday sports line-up
The Milan derby will headline the launch weekend of ESPN's new Sunday sports itinerary.

Pay TV channel ESPN will launch a new live Sunday sports and studio programming schedule from the middle of the month, running for almost nine hours each week.

The revamped schedule is set to debut on January 15th 2012 with live coverage of Serie A's Derby della Madonnina between AC Milan and Inter Milan, plus analysis, discussion and highlights around the fixture.

New live pre and post-match programmes for the channel's Bundesliga and Serie A matches will be introduced in addition to ESPN's existing Barclays Premier League, FA Cup, Clydesdale Bank Premier League and Aviva Premiership Rugby coverage.

A refocused version of Talk of the Terrace, the broadcaster's weekly studio show, will move from its Monday night timeslot to form part of the Sunday schedule.

Jeroen Oerlemans, vice president and channel manager of ESPN in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: "This new schedule allows us to bring viewers a great blend of quality live sport, studio discussion and analysis from an outstanding roster of presenters, pundits and guests."

On Christmas Day, ESPN bolstered its line-up with the start of its exclusive coverage of the new NBA season, which was delayed following a 149-day pay dispute.
