Gigler launches gigabit broadband in Bournemouth via CityFibre network

New internet service provider Gigler has begun offering 1Gbps fibre optic broadband speeds to customers in Bournemouth via the CityFibre network.
The communications firm will make the ultra-fast broadband service available to more than 21,000 homes in the south coast town that are already connected to CityFibre's fibre-to-the-home network infrastructure.
Gigler has opted to introduce just one product, delivering up to 1Gbps downstream speeds and uploads of up to 500Mbps - 200 times faster than the UK average.
CityFibre chief executive Greg Mesch said Gigler's customer trials of the service had proved successful, with users changing their online behaviour thanks to the improved speeds.
Subscribers typically began uploading more content and shifting more of their TV and film viewing to the web, he explained.
"We are pleased that the people of Bournemouth are now able to take advantage of this future-proof fibre platform," Mr Mesch commented.
Adam Troman, general manager at Gigler, described the service as the most advanced residential broadband available in the UK.
"We look forward to working with CityFibre to expand the Bournemouth network and offer this exciting product throughout the town," he added.
