Half of broadband users 'have not switched since 2005'
New figures have revealed that half of the UK's broadband users have not considered switching their provider in the past four years.
Around one in two broadband users in the UK have not switched provider in the past four years, according to new research.

The study by Consumerchoices.co.uk found that households would prefer to cut their spend on food shopping than consider making changes to their internet deal.

According to the website, this is despite the cost of broadband falling by at least 37 per cent and the average speed rising by 700 per cent over the same period.

Michael Phillips, product director of Consumerchoices.co.uk, said: "British consumers have switched on to the benefits of shopping around for household services such as gas, electricity and home phone - so why not do the same for broadband?

"As internet users come to view their connection as a necessity they should not have to pay more than they need to for this service."

Recent research by BroadbandChoices.co.uk found that a third of broadband users are also not taking advantage of bundled deals involving digital TV and home phone services.
