KC to showcase fibre broadband at Emerging Technologies event

KC has announced its "lighting fast" fibre optic broadband service will be showcased at Hull's Emerging Technologies open day later this month.
In the final session of the day, KC's head of business solutions Lee Hampston will give attendees details about the internet service provider's Business Lightstream proposition and present examples of how local firms have benefited from adopting super-fast broadband.
Hesslewood Country Office Park, Priory Park and Waterside Business Park have already been connected to the fibre broadband service, while further commercial hubs are set to be hooked up in the near future.
By the end of this year, KC is aiming to roll out fibre optic broadband to 15,000 homes and businesses throughout east Yorkshire. As of late June, more than 2,000 customers had signed up for the service.
Mr Hampston revealed feedback about the super-fast broadband product has so far been "very positive" and predicted demand for the technology will remain strong as the deployment continues.
"Broadband's a vital tool for businesses of all types and sizes, and faster download and upload speeds mean greater efficiency," he added.
The Emerging Technologies event will take place at the KC Stadium on September 20th 2012.
