Digital TV provider Virgin Media is to improve its broadcast offering by integrating a new platform into its services, it has been announced.
Software provider Zentive has delivered Trugateway, a new provisioning activation platform, to the company.
It is hoped the technology will allow Virgin Media to offer an increasing range of services to those that subscribe to its fibre optic cable broadband, digital TV and home phone services.
Stephen Featham, director of TV and entertainment development at Virgin Media, said the "state-of-the-art design" will help its service to "grow and develop".
He added: "Zentive has the right experience and expertise to deliver a complete solution and help support our next generation of entertainment."
At the end of last year, Virgin Media confirmed it is working with US technology giant TiVo on a next generation digital TV platform which will be featured on a new range of set-top boxes.
