O2 becomes Openzone-friendlyA leading mobile broadband provider has revealed that its customers are set to have access to BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots for the first time. Mobile broadband provider O2 has agreed a deal with BT which will allow its customers to access Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots.
The deal means that subscribers will be able to log-in to their web services at an additional 3,000 hotspots, including branches of Starbucks, as well as benefit further from unlimited Wi-Fi allowances via their existing deals.
In addition, O2 is also upgrading its Connection Manager software so users will be able to easily access home and business networks without the need for security codes.
Jonathan Earle, head of Pay Monthly, said: "We appreciate that our customers want to get the most from their mobile broadband service and we continually look to provide value-added services for them."
O2 recently revealed it was offering its pay-as-you-go dongle - the USB Modem E160 - for the reduced price of £14.97.
