O2 tops consumer poll
A new survey which highlights the most popular internet service providers in the UK has been published.
O2 has been named the UK's top broadband provider by consumers in a new poll.

According to BroadbandChoices.co.uk, the company won all of the key satisfaction categories in its survey, which saw 10,000 people give their views on the service they receive from their internet provider.

Virgin Media was voted the most improved firm overall, while it was also awarded the fastest service for bundled packages.

TalkTalk was found to provide customers with the best value for money, while Sky was named the top provider overall for its bundled services.

Michael Philips, product director of BroadbandChoices.co.uk, said another notable finding was that over half of web users are looking to switch providers.

He added: "As competition in the broadband market increases, it's encouraging to see that consumers now recognise that there are viable alternatives."

Recent figures from Virgin Media claimed that a fifth of people in the UK do not understand what the term broadband actually means, while 40 per cent were unaware of phrases including internet browser.
