Ofcom: 80% of TVs are now digital
Eight out of ten TVs used in the UK are now enabled to receive digital TV services, it has been revealed.
New figures from Ofcom have revealed that eight out of ten TVs in use in the UK can now receive digital signals.

The regulator's Digital TV Progress Report found that 24.3 million secondary TV sets were converted to digital during the second quarter of 2009, which is up 15 per cent from last year.

Nine out of ten main sets in the UK are now digitally-enabled, while consumers are increasingly choosing to buy TVs with integrated decoders rather than set-top boxes that can be used with current systems.

The report also shed some light on bundling, revealing that a growing number of both Sky and Virgin Media customers are taking up combined digital TV, broadband and home phone services with the providers.

News of the findings has come as TV viewers across the UK are being reminded to retune their digital services on or after September 30th, as a number of changes are being made to the Freeview platform.
