Plusnet finds 99% of mums spend 'me time' online

New figures have shown that 99 per cent of mums in the UK are spending up to four hours of 'me time' online every day.
According to research carried out by Plusnet, the vast majority of mums are using the internet to help them unwind and to have some time to themselves.
The activities they get up to during this time include online shopping (41 per cent) and internet banking (40 per cent), as well as networking with friends and family (39 per cent).
Chief executive officer of the internet service provider Jamie Ford commented: "Through this study we can see how vital the internet is when you are a parent, in fact even us dads are partial to turning to the net, especially for things like help with homework."
The news follows a recent study from Plusnet which revealed that 22 per cent of Brits aged over 55 have taken classes on using the internet in order to make the most of their broadband connection.
It was a significantly higher percentage than the 16 to 24-year-old age group, which saw just six per cent of these individuals having taken part in classes.
