Plusnet reduces broadband contractsTuesday, September 22nd 2009 Broadband provider Plusnet is now offering customers the chance to take up shorter contracts. Plusnet has announced that it is now offering shorter contracts to its customers.
The broadband provider has announced that it is no longer using 18-month deals, as it has replaced them with 12-month alternatives.
In addition, the company has changed its cancellation policy by now only charging customers for the cost of setting up the account or for any hardware used if they leave within 12 months of signing up.
This is instead of charging users for any outstanding subscription.
Discussing the changes, Plusnet's chief executive officer Anthony Vollmer said: "Moving to shorter commitment periods allows customers so much more flexibility.
"We want our customers to stay with us because they love our phone and broadband products, not because we have tied them into lengthy contracts."
Plusnet was recently awarded the prize for Best Value Home Broadband at the Top 10 Broadband Awards.
