Ricability offers digital TV adviceMonday, February 8th 2010 A research charity is providing households in Swindon with advice on the digital TV switchover. People in Swindon can get advice on digital TV issues from an independent research body, according to reports.
The town will be affected by the switchover beginning next month and Ricability has been asked by the government to test different types of set-top boxes to help people select the most suitable models.
According to the Swindon Advertiser, the switch to digital TV in the area should be completed by April 7th.
Caroline Jacobs, development manager for Ricability, told the newspaper: "The switchover to a digital only signal is the single biggest development in the history of television since the advent of colour and we're committed to ensuring that the process goes as smoothly as possible for viewers in the Mendip reception area."
The Press and Journal recently reported that analogue TV viewers in north-eastern parts of Scotland are to be given advice on the digital switchover via on-screen captions over the coming weeks. |

The digital economy bill may not stop music fans from illegally sharing files online, according to a poll by TalkTalk. | New research from Point Topic has suggested that the Tories' stance on fibre optic broadband will not benefit the party's voters. Consumers who sign up to Sky's broadband and digital TV bundles online can get their hands on a £50 Marks & Spencer voucher.
