The eagerly-anticipated 3D digital TV service from Sky will launch on April 3rd, the company has confirmed.
Digital TV provider Sky is set to launch its hugely anticipated 3D channel on April 3rd, it has been announced.

The company, which also offers broadband and home phone bundles, has revealed that the service will begin with the broadcast of the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Five further top-flight games will be shown on the channel before the end of this season, while the Football League play-off finals will also be broadcast in the format.

In addition, other programming will be featured on the channel, which will initially be available in pubs and clubs across the UK before being launched for households later in the year.

Brian Lenz, Sky's director of product design and TV product development, said: "With 3D, seeing really is believing, so it’s great news that over a thousand pubs across country will be able to show the magic of 3D to their customers."

Sky recently confirmed that Five HD will debut on its digital TV service in July.
