Sky rolls out Now TV iPad and iPhone app

Sky has announced the launch of an iPad and iPhone app for its recently introduced online television service, Now TV.
Rolled out on July 17th 2012, Now TV currently offers subscription-free access to Sky Movies across a wide range of internet-connected devices. The satellite broadcaster is also planning to add sports and entertainment content to the service in the coming months.
Users can choose to rent individual films on a pay-as-you-go basis or sign up to a 30-day package offering all-you-can-watch access to the Sky Movies archive.
The new app, which is available from the Apple App Store, allows iPad and iPhone owners to access Now TV via 3G and Wi-Fi connections.
Asked by TechRadar about future plans to bring Now TV to more Android smartphones and tablets, Sky said: "No further updates on Android as yet, but we are continuing to add more devices."
As well as being available on PC, Mac and selected mobile handsets, the service has been added to the YouView platform and will be rolled out to Microsoft's Xbox 360 console later this summer.
Other platforms will be developed in the near future, with Sky planning to roll out Now TV to Sony's PlayStation 3 and the Roku streaming player.
