Sky to unbundle phone linesA leading broadband provider has revealed it is unbundling its network's phone lines. Local loop unbundling is to be used by Sky as it looks to avoid renting lines from rival company BT. The broadband and TV company has announced it is now using the new model to improve its control of the services it offers to subscribers across the UK. It also means that the company will become the home phone service provider for many of its customers, but it added in a letter that people should not be concerned about the changes. "You don't have to do a thing - we're transferring Sky Talk and SkyBroadband customers to our new network automatically, with minimal disruption to your connection," the firm explained. "Your account details, including your home phone number, email address and username will all stay the same. Your Sky TV service will not be affected." Sky recently confirmed it is to offer its online TV service to owners of broadband-enabled Xbox 360s later this year. |
Broadband provider TalkTalk has filmed a mock music video as part of its campaign against the government's digital economy bill. Digital TV provider Sky has announced it is adding new HD channels to its broadcast platform this summer. New research has revealed that businesses would move to new premises in order to access faster broadband services. | Bundle provider Virgin Media has agreed a deal which will see Sci Fi HD added to its digital TV offering. New research from Point Topic has suggested that the Tories' stance on fibre optic broadband will not benefit the party's voters. Consumers who sign up to Sky's broadband and digital TV bundles online can get their hands on a £50 Marks & Spencer voucher. |
