Sky to unbundle phone lines
A leading broadband provider has revealed it is unbundling its network's phone lines.
Local loop unbundling is to be used by Sky as it looks to avoid renting lines from rival company BT.

The broadband and TV company has announced it is now using the new model to improve its control of the services it offers to subscribers across the UK.

It also means that the company will become the home phone service provider for many of its customers, but it added in a letter that people should not be concerned about the changes.

"You don't have to do a thing - we're transferring Sky Talk and SkyBroadband customers to our new network automatically, with minimal disruption to your connection," the firm explained.

"Your account details, including your home phone number, email address and username will all stay the same. Your Sky TV service will not be affected."

Sky recently confirmed it is to offer its online TV service to owners of broadband-enabled Xbox 360s later this year.
