Sky unveils new TV advertising serviceWednesday, April 29th 2009 A leading digital TV provider has announced plans to launch a new on-demand advertising service. Sky is to introduce a new on-demand advertising platform to its digital TV services, it has been announced. The broadband and TV provider is to launch Green Button marketing, which will give consumers the chance to view extended "long-form" promotions by pressing the related key on their remote control. It is hoped the service will allow Sky subscribers the chance to learn more about products or services, as well as how well-known and innovative promotions have been made. Chloe Smith, head of interactive advertising at Sky Media, said the company has "continually sought to innovate for advertisers and provide them with more choice and greater opportunities in reaching audiences in new and engaging ways". She added: "With the added functionality of Sky+, they can interact with those brands at a time of their choosing." Earlier this year, rival firm Virgin Media trialled a new advertising service on its on-demand TV package. |
