Study suggests mobile broadband plans should be restructuredTuesday, November 17th 2009 Mobile broadband providers should consider restructuring the tariffs they offer to consumers, according to research. A new study has highlighted that mobile broadband consumers would like to see the tariffs offered to them restructured.
The research by Camiant found that consumers generally have problems with the common "cap and overage" plans that are in use, as 62 per cent did not know what their usage cap was.
It was also revealed that consumers are more likely to select alternative rate plan structures when offered them.
Randy Fuller, vice-president of business development at Camiant, said: "Our study clearly indicates that there are definite opportunities for mobile operators to use rate plan structures to help solve this problem and that users are receptive to creative alternatives."
Last week, O2 announced it has cut the price of one of its mobile broadband dongles.
The pay-as-you-go dongle which offers speeds of up to 3.6Mbps is available for £14.67 for a limited period, while tariffs for the service are available from £2.
