Switching process 'should be simplified'The process of switching from one broadband and home phone provider to another should be made easier, according to the Communications Consumer Panel. Ofcom should aim to improve the service offered to those switching their broadband provider, it has been claimed.
Responding to the regulator's proposals to change rules on the mis-selling of fixed-line telephone services, the Communications Consumer Panel also believes the way people switch should be made quicker and easier.
In a letter to Ofcom, the panel's chair Anna Bradley said the body should give the green light to "a single process" for changing to a different home phone, digital TV and broadband providers.
She added: "We would like to see Ofcom develop a strategy to move to a single switching process as soon as possible."
