T-Mobile rates for mobile broadband among world's cheapest

T-Mobile's mobile broadband plan is second-cheapest in the world
T-Mobile has been named as the provider of the world's second-cheapest mobile broadband package, after Indonesia's Indostat.

An independent study has found that T-Mobile's pricing on its UK mobile broadband packages is among the cheapest to be found anywhere in the world.

ABI Research has published a cross-country comparison of mobile data pricing which named T-Mobile UK's Mobile Broadband Plus unlimited data usage plan as the second-cheapest package available.

The plan was calculated as costing $15.47 (£9.60) per month, with only the $13.52 arrangement offered by Indonesian provider Indosat for its StarOne BIS package working out cheaper.

This comes despite the fact that price plans in Asia were generally found to be much cheaper than anywhere else in the world, due to the competitive nature of the local market.

Neil Strother, mobile services practice director for ABI Research, also noted that demand for mobile data has been "soaring" in the last few years.

T-Mobile's range of mobile broadband packages allow users to pay on a daily, monthly or weekly basis, while also offering subscribers the choice to utilise their mobile internet functionality while travelling in Europe.
