TalkTalk prepared for new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Broadband provider TalkTalk has claimed it is prepared to cope with the high level of online traffic which could be created by gamers playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The release of the new Call of Duty game will not put a strain on TalkTalk's broadband network, the company has claimed.Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and is expected to be as popular as its predecessor in terms of online play.
However, TalkTalk has brushed off the suggestion that the launch of the title may put strain on internet connections across the globe, as gamers rush to challenge friends via the web.
Talking to Broadband Genie, a spokesperson for the broadband provider said: "TalkTalk runs the biggest next-generation network in the UK and it is optimised to make sure it can cope with high levels of traffic for games such as Call of Duty."
The source added that its customers could also add a Turbo Boost to their connection for £4 extra per month.
Excitement over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 even led to the title having a film-style premiere in Leicester Square.
