TalkTalk has cut its broadband prices
TalkTalk has announced cuts to its broadband prices.

Telecoms provider TalkTalk has announced it has cut its prices for broadband customers in the UK.

The cost of its TalkTalk Essentials package have been reduced from £6.99 per month to £6.50, while the TalkTalk Plus package has been cut from £14.99 to £14.50.

Furthermore, the business has also announced reductions in other areas, including by dropping the cost of installing a new line for subscribers from £79 to £50 and scrapping its home mover fee entirely.

Dido Harding, chief executive of TalkTalk, said: "Always providing our customers with the best possible value phone and broadband service is our primary focus. Price is an important part of this, but it's also about what you get for your money."

The move follows publication of the company's preliminary results for the full year to March 2011, in which it revealed that its total number of home broadband subscribers fell by 25,000 over the last 12 months.

In total, the firm now has 4.199 million subscribers to its broadband services in the UK.
