TalkTalk to screen Ricky Hatton's comeback for free
TalkTalk has struck a deal with Primetime and Hatton Promotions to screen Ricky Hatton's comeback to the boxing ring as a free gift for TalkTalk Plus customers.
The Hitman will take on former WBA World Welterweight Champion Vyacheslav Senchenko at the Manchester Arena on Saturday (November 24th 2012), with the fighter's return after a three-year absence generating significant interest.
It will be the first time TalkTalk has broadcast a pay-per-view sports event. To mark the occasion, the internet service provider has opted to cover the £14.95 cost of viewing the fight itself.
Boxing fans subscribed to the TalkTalk Plus home communications and entertainment bundle can watch the contest by signing up via the TalkTalk Player and visiting the TV gift section.
"As one of the 30,000 fans that travelled to Las Vegas for his fight with Floyd Mayweather, I'm delighted that TalkTalk have done a deal with Primetime and Hatton Promotions to allow all our customers to view Ricky's comeback," said TalkTalk's communications director Mark Schmid.
Along with Hatton's fight, viewers will be able to enjoy undercard bouts including Scott Quigg v Rendall Munroe for the WBA interim super-bantamweight title.
