Virgin Media awards three-year supply contract to Technetix

Virgin Media has awarded cable broadband network solutions firm Technetix a three-year contract to supply a range of technical and non-technical products.
A major European provider of products for the final mile of cable broadband networks, Technetix has a customer base of 1,100 firms spread across 55 countries.
Under the agreement, Technetix will utilise vendor managed inventory principles to deliver products with a secure online portal, allowing Virgin to enjoy full visibility over all inventory levels in the supply chain.
Complementing the supply deal, Technetix has created a series of products designed to support recent and future improvements made by Virgin Media to its broadband infrastructure.
Amar Treon, director of procurement at Virgin Media, said the service it receives from Technetix plays an important role in streamlining the broadband provider's logistics and supply chain process while ensuring stock levels remain manageable and sustainable.
Technetix was chosen because of its "strong roadmap" that will help Virgin "continue to maintain cost-efficient operations", he explained.
Vice president of sales at Technetix Francois Giraud-Sauveur added: "Our new preferred supplier contract will offer an increased range of products manufactured by Technetix, complemented by products from other approved suppliers."
