Virgin Media launches new Mo Farah-fronted ad campaign
Double Olympic champion Mo Farah stars in a new promotional campaign for Virgin Media.

Virgin Media has today (October 1st 2012) debuted a new multichannel advertising campaign featuring double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah.

The multimillion-pound promotional push, which features outdoor, press, digital and mobile elements, focuses on the "brilliant extras" available at no additional cost to the cable company's customers.

High-definition (HD) channels, free service and repairs, and Virgin Media's current broadband speed doubling are among the benefits featured in the campaign.

The provider began its programme of broadband upgrades in March and is set to double the speeds of more than four million customers by next September.

Farah, who won gold in the 5,000 m and 10,000 m at London 2012, is the latest big-name brand ambassador signed up by Virgin Media. The role has previously been held by the likes of Samuel L Jackson, Uma Thurman, Stephen Fry and fellow Olympic champion Usain Bolt.

Virgin Media's executive director of brand and marketing communications Jeff Dodds said: "Mo's brought us some golden moments throughout 2012 and with amazing digital services, including HD TV at no extra cost and the UK's fastest widely available broadband, Virgin Media is the perfect place to enjoy them all."
