Fibre optic broadband provider Virgin Media has commissioned a new work of art to celebrate the widespread availability of web services. The company, which offers bundles including home phone and digital TV services, gave United Visual Artists the chance to develop a light installation to mark the tenth anniversary of the launch of broadband in the UK. Dexigner reports that Speed of Light considers the themes of communication and will be previewed online from the end of this month. The work will be open to the public in the Bargehouse, a four-storey industrial space on London's South Bank, later this year. Details of the light installation have come after Virgin Media also launched its new entrepreneur scheme with Enterprise UK. The Virgin Media Pioneers initiative has been created to ensure young entrepreneurs have access to peer support and advice from a range of business experts through a new online community.
