Virgin Media issues mobile broadband assurance
The company's mobile broadband subscribers will eventually get the full benefits of Orange and T-Mobile's networks.
A Virgin Media spokesman has moved to reassure the cable giant's mobile broadband customers over fears about its service.According to PC Pro, some subscribers have struggled to gain a connection following the merger between T-Mobile - which provides Virgin's mobile signal - and Orange to form the Everything Everywhere joint venture.
T-Mobile has decommissioned 3G network sites in some areas that are covered by Orange's masts, resulting in the loss of reception for certain Virgin Media customers, the tech news provider explained.
Responding to these concerns, the spokesman said subscribers will eventually be able to take advantage of both Orange and T-Mobile's infrastructure.
"As the network integration is completed, all Virgin Media customers stand to benefit from improved nationwide mobile coverage," they commented.
Everything Everywhere was unveiled in May 2010 and, with a combined customer base of around 30 million people, is the largest carrier in the UK.
It also has more high street stores than any of its rivals with over 700.
