Virgin Media launches 'powerful' YouTube appTuesday, September 8th 2009 Virgin Media is promoting its super-fast broadband with a new YouTube application which allows users to make their videos more 'powerful'. Broadband provider Virgin Media has created a new application for video-sharing site YouTube which enables users to customise their own and others' videos.
The Powerful Stuff channel enables people to add effects such as sound, music and visuals to the videos and aims to promote Virgin Media as a supplier of super-fast fibre optic broadband and multimedia content.
Richard Duff-Tytler, the senior online marketing manager at Virgin Media, told Campaign Live: "We want to celebrate entertainment while reinforcing the association of the Virgin Media brand with online video. This is a fun way of bringing our brand values to life rather than a hard sell."
Virgin Media's Fifty50 initiative, designed to celebrate the launch of the firm's 50Mbps broadband, recently saw it donate £20,000 to charity.
The provider pledged to donate £1,000 to charities such as Barnardo's and Cancer Research UK for every English batsman who scored a half-century during the Ashes series.
