Virgin Media plans gaming improvements

Friday, October 2nd 2009 by Editorial
Fibre optic broadband provider Virgin Media has announced it working on ways to improve the service available to its gaming customers.
Broadband provider Virgin Media has revealed it is looking to improve the service available to its customers that play games online.

The company has received reports that gamers playing certain PC titles have had some problems with high latency in recent weeks, so it is now looking to rectify the problem.

Gaming traffic received by the company is prioritised to ensure a good experience is provided, but it is thought that certain games have settings which mean they are not being recognised correctly.

Writing on the Virgin Media forum, help and support manager Mark Wilkin said: "We're sorry that this has taken so long to get a handle on, but we're working hard on getting this fixed as soon as we can."

Earlier this week, Virgin Media confirmed it has been approved to commence trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, under the ticker symbol of VMED.
