Which?: UK broadband is good value
Consumer magazine Which? has claimed research shows broadband in the UK is good value.
Broadband in the UK is better value than many consumers may think, new research from consumer magazine Which? has suggested. The publication has released a report which includes a country-by-country comparison of utilities and internet costs across Europe.
According to the study, the average household in the UK spends around £430 a year on broadband services, which is not so expensive when placed next to figures for other countries.
ISPreview.co.uk reports that French people pay £441 for web access, while households and businesses in Italy pay slightly less at £412.
However, Spain was found to be the biggest loser when it comes to the cost of broadband, with households paying an average of £828.
Demand for broadband services remains high in Europe, according to new figures released this week.
The European Commission report found that 24 per cent of the continent's population had access to broadband in July 2009, a three per cent rise from the previous 12 months.
