Most mobile broadband contracts require that you pay monthly and commit to a lengthy contract of 18 months or more, whilst pay as you go mobile broadband usually asks you to buy the USB modem on top of paying for the data you use.

However, T-Mobile has taken a different approach in offering this Pay Up Front mobile broadband deal which offers a combination of flexibility, connectivity and value that is unique amongst mobile broadband offers. You simply pay a one-off flat fee and nothing more, with no line rental or set-up charges to pay on top of this initial payment.

For your money you will receive a USB dongle and 90 days of mobile broadband connectivity. The USB dongle contains the modem which will allow you to connect to the T-Mobile 3G broadband networks around the UK and it is small enough to be extremely portable and ideal for use with laptops whilst you are on the move.

The USB dongle also features a microSD memory card slot, into which you can insert a card with a storage capacity of up to 4GB. That makes the dongle a pleasingly versatile bit of kit. For those with a desire for design flare the USB dongle also comes with a selection of 3 additional plastic covers which feature various attractive and zany designs.

You can of course stick with the standard black cover if that is your thing, but this deal is clearly aimed towards a younger audience. Once you have got the dongle and inserted it into your PC or laptop, you will be able to get online in minutes and use the truly wireless broadband connection to download at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps.

This is fast enough to load a typical website in well under a second and you could even download larger files and stream video with ease if you choose to. Also included in the initial price of this package is a 2GB monthly data allowance.

Over the course of the 90 day period you will be able to use your connection to surf the web for upwards of 20 hours each month, though it is unlikely that you will want to use the connection for downloading or heavy streaming as this will quickly use up the allowance.

The biggest asset of this package is of course the lack of commitment that it requires. If you are happy with the service and want more after 90 days you can sign up for a longer period.
