Unlimited up to 60Mbps fibre optic broadband
This broadband and calls bundle is built around Virgin’s mid-range fibre optic broadband service. It features a download speed of up to 60Mbps, which is roughly six times faster than Ofcom’s official figure for the UK average. This is quick enough to support latest-generation online console gameplay, download a full movie in less time than it takes to make a cup of tea and purchase an iTunes album almost instantaneously.
This comes with an unlimited monthly usage allowance so you can download as many movies, MP3s and websites as you like each month with nothing to hold you back. There are peak time fair usage figures however, and crossing these can result in your connection being throttled for the following five hours. Fortunately, these fair usage limits are set at such a high level that most users would never be troubled by them; 10GB for the 10am-3pm period and a further 5GB for the 4pm-9pm period.
Free Virgin Media Super Hub
Included in the cost of this package is a Virgin Media Super Hub. This is one of the most powerful wireless routers provided by any of the UK’s ISPs, and is capable of supporting up to 20 wireless connections at a time at data transfer rates of 120Mbps and beyond, so you won’t need to worry about replacing it even if you decide to upgrade to a faster Virgin Media broadband package.
